SNEAKER JUNKIE

I am still not quite sure what benefit this blog will be. I have no sense in making it more than a bunch of things people will curse at. I guess that's all these things are good for anyway. Here is a completely awful list I have comprised of my all time favorite s
hoes. I call this list:

TOP TEN ALL TIME SNEAKERS!

- NUMBER 10
- VANS - Slip On Originals

If you don't or didn't ever have a pair of these little jerks, then you know someone who did. I really don't need to sayanymore. They have been around since the mid-sixties.

- NUMBER 9 - CONVERSE - The Weapon

Established in 1986, The Weapon, was a shoe made for street courts and indoors alike. Theywere very boot-like, heavy and solid. They were kind of slick though. The ad campaign...short and genius.

As you can see. The campaign was brilliant. Really??? I believe that is Spanish for "Larger Shorts Please."

- NUMBER 8 - PONY - City Wings
They have planes on them. That really doesn't mean much. Except for the fact that they make you rocket around space at the speed of light! No, they don't do that either. Brought to public in the sixties as a vinyl, long lasting shoe, it was one of the first to come out with a modest amount of color, style and variety.

Mr. Dawkins just chose the most boring pair.

- NUMBER 7 - ADIDAS - Stan Smith Collection

These are comfort city. These are the first pair of ADIDAS on my list. I coveted these for a long time when I was younger. I had no idea who Stan Smith was, nor did I care. Once I had finally gotten a pair of these I was hooked. They too came in a small variety. The classic green and white are still my favorites.

Thanks Stan!

- NUMBER 6 - NIKE - Bo Jackson Trainer Series

I fought long and hard over this. I wasn't going to have more than one Nike on this list. If only for the reason that they are always somewhere. Plus, not a big fan. These however, these I loved. Good times Nike...good times. These were what Bo Jackson knew all about. I knew about it too.

This is currently what Bo knows.

- NUMBER 5 - ADIDAS - Comptown and Science Series

The Comptown and Science series are some of my favorite shoes. They had to be in the top 5 at least. These have been around for a bit. Fast becoming one of my favorites. They are ridiculous as far as comfort goes. They are durable as hell. I just dig them.

The Science followed. I only have one item of footwear that will ever have gold on them. These are the ones. They are awful. Enjoy them.

- NUMBER 4 - PUMA - Clydes

These were the first shoes I actually went h
unting for. I know. Yes, I am a man. We searched for all the different color combos. It was like a twisted game. We never had money for a lot of them. Ahhh, the Puma Clyde. Thew array of colors that have dropped with this series over the years is amazing. The copycats it has spawned. Originated in the late 60's. Walt "Clyde" Frazier made these things shine.

- NUMBER 3 - NIKE - Air Jordan IV

Can you blame me? I know the Jordan I or the III were innovative. These were just amazing to me. I couldn't afford any when they first came out. I bought a pair that were barely used the same year. I really cannot say enough about them. I know they're just shoes. These are just great. The concrete detail on the base colored ones were my weakness for the second Nike on the list.

-NUMBER 2 - CONVERSE - Chuck Taylors

What can I say about Chucks? They are absolutely timeless. They have been owned, drawn on, warn out, painted, and played in for over 60 years. They continue to be a staple, world wide. Chuck Taylors are what every sneaker started as. They are the Patriarch, they are Chucks. I cannot even guess how many of these I have gone through. The varieties now with the One Star line are nuts. Your grandfather wore a pair of these.

- NUMBER 1 - ADIDAS - Superstar or Shells

Adi Dassler would be proud. It's the Superstar. It has made transformations since it's beginning in 1969. It has never jumped too far from the beginning though. The Superstar, I love it, hi-top or low.

Send them to me.

So that's it. I just wanted to throw that in the nonsense pile. Enjoy it!
