Zzzzzzzzz

I must have woken up at least 5 times last night. Random dreams intertwined with nightmares make it hard to navigate through them. Sound sleep has escaped me before, but not for this long of a stretch.
I know the reasons are associated with guilt, wonder and regret. In some cases, excitement and nervousness. It will pass with time.

Folding laundry

Hello. Smartphones make it easier to write while I do meaningless things, like folding laundry.

A little something.

Dear folks,

Since this is a restructure of my previous blog, I will be posting older stuff I wanted to keep on here. Thanks for your random interest. I don't know why you are. However, it helps my boredom.

Secrecy

The only sound I hear is fleeing.
Echoes from afar.

I truely cannot make out what they are.

Sounds to me like a mix of lust and death.
They are too similar to separate.

If I dare get any closer,I may lose.

Become involved in whatever is fading.
Like clockwork though,those sounds.
They insist on breaking through.

My tired eyes weary,
Glossy and unfiltered.

Every time I have called out...
No reply.

Soon I will give up and give in.

Let the sworn sound of secrecy,
Violate and win.

Lunchbox

The curious child
Looks in amazement
At everything, but itself.

Wonders never cease.
Thoughts on action figures
To Play Doh
Chariots grinding like gears.

Days upon days of encouraged recess
Birthdays and grandparents
Scolding means nothing
Because school will still let you play kickball.

Snow does not mean the same thing
No traveling hassles
Or
Chains to put on
Just gloves and maybe a coat.

Warm soup is the cure for most ails,
a caring kiss on a wound.
Freedom is a different word.
It means one more hour awake.

Summer months
No cares
Taking bottles back for squirt guns
Doing chores for G.I. Joe
Discontent and some times unhappy with beans.

Night times hidden monsters
The Mornings showing days
I keep them in a lunchbox
To open when I need a break.

Supermarkets are like a labyrinth
Toy stores are by the Gods
Staying up all night before birthdays
Restless with desire.

Alley ways and public parks
Staying out just until dark
The street lights should always be on
Homework can always be done.

Crowded cafeterias at lunch
Discovering new groups of food.
Laughing aloud with friends
Milk coming out the nose.

Ice cream headaches were obsolete
The wide,wide world seemed
so complete
Staring contests
and pencil fights
Hiding from unpacking after trips.

Touch,smell,taste,sight,sound
Youth I think is the sixth
Crammed forever in an eight pound container
Should bring it out more.

Summer days of innocence
Winter nights in dreams
I keep them in a lunchbox
To cherish when I am in need.

Ocean of Grain

My dance has gone out of style.

Life's two left feet,

Have made me curiously stumble.

This admiration for an estranged feeling,

Has no liquid left to pour.

In alcoholica I am Moses.

Parting reality like a sea.

This is what happens

When the sea comes crashing back

Washing away everything

Including the life-preserver

That had never been reserved.

I am a strong swimmer.

Even though the liquid is deep.

I am tired of holding my breath.

Sinking is no longer an option.

I will swim on the surface.

Believing my maiden, motivation, will be there to guide me.

We had a falling out.

Which is what led me to this place.

Only to find out

That treading water

Never leads to anything.

I have forgotten days,

months.

Mornings I have awakened

Possibly to remember stitches,

Of blurs and blacks the night before.

Furthermore,

I cannot become one of them

One of the lifeless bodies floating

Atop the gradient colors of grain meshed aqua.

The life-preserver is me

Saving myself

Granting myself passage

To a place I forget to see.

I have started searching th horizon.

As the vast ocean becomes shallow

My feet touch the ground

I stroll to the surface

My maiden will meet me there.

So as some of you might have seen on television, or heard on the radio...

THE McRIB IS BACK!!!

Oh, the McRib. How you lie like something that lies. You try to bring me in with your barbequey glaze, your sweet awkwardness. I hate you. Why must you betray me?

I was lured in with your call.

You danced in front of my face like a whorish pixie.
Except for the fact that the pixies I know of do not smell of pickles, onions and cat food.
Yet, I want to hold you.
You just stare at me. You look like crap.

You seem like you were constructed by a maven of sauciness.
One whom, with a zest of mystery and dehydrated white onion, constructed you as so:

Now I realize it's all a lie. It makes me wonder what your sweet song means.
The same song you sing everywhere.

I see how it is. Always the same. It makes me wonder if "McRib is Back" is in verb or noun form!
I've seen you naked. I know how you roll.

You have spread your perfectly molded riblets all across the land.
Moreover, you have left your siren song far and wide.

New? You lie.
I must tell you this because you have made me sick. My stomach, taste buds. colon and heart are all broken. Well, not really my heart, it's indigestion.
I just wanted to warn you my distant love. I hate you. I don't want anything to do with you.
I don't want anything bad to happen to you.

I'll see you tomorrow.

SNEAKER JUNKIE

I am still not quite sure what benefit this blog will be. I have no sense in making it more than a bunch of things people will curse at. I guess that's all these things are good for anyway. Here is a completely awful list I have comprised of my all time favorite s
hoes. I call this list:

TOP TEN ALL TIME SNEAKERS!

- NUMBER 10
- VANS - Slip On Originals

If you don't or didn't ever have a pair of these little jerks, then you know someone who did. I really don't need to sayanymore. They have been around since the mid-sixties.

- NUMBER 9 - CONVERSE - The Weapon

Established in 1986, The Weapon, was a shoe made for street courts and indoors alike. Theywere very boot-like, heavy and solid. They were kind of slick though. The ad campaign...short and genius.

As you can see. The campaign was brilliant. Really??? I believe that is Spanish for "Larger Shorts Please."

- NUMBER 8 - PONY - City Wings
They have planes on them. That really doesn't mean much. Except for the fact that they make you rocket around space at the speed of light! No, they don't do that either. Brought to public in the sixties as a vinyl, long lasting shoe, it was one of the first to come out with a modest amount of color, style and variety.

Mr. Dawkins just chose the most boring pair.

- NUMBER 7 - ADIDAS - Stan Smith Collection

These are comfort city. These are the first pair of ADIDAS on my list. I coveted these for a long time when I was younger. I had no idea who Stan Smith was, nor did I care. Once I had finally gotten a pair of these I was hooked. They too came in a small variety. The classic green and white are still my favorites.

Thanks Stan!

- NUMBER 6 - NIKE - Bo Jackson Trainer Series

I fought long and hard over this. I wasn't going to have more than one Nike on this list. If only for the reason that they are always somewhere. Plus, not a big fan. These however, these I loved. Good times Nike...good times. These were what Bo Jackson knew all about. I knew about it too.

This is currently what Bo knows.

- NUMBER 5 - ADIDAS - Comptown and Science Series

The Comptown and Science series are some of my favorite shoes. They had to be in the top 5 at least. These have been around for a bit. Fast becoming one of my favorites. They are ridiculous as far as comfort goes. They are durable as hell. I just dig them.

The Science followed. I only have one item of footwear that will ever have gold on them. These are the ones. They are awful. Enjoy them.

- NUMBER 4 - PUMA - Clydes

These were the first shoes I actually went h
unting for. I know. Yes, I am a man. We searched for all the different color combos. It was like a twisted game. We never had money for a lot of them. Ahhh, the Puma Clyde. Thew array of colors that have dropped with this series over the years is amazing. The copycats it has spawned. Originated in the late 60's. Walt "Clyde" Frazier made these things shine.

- NUMBER 3 - NIKE - Air Jordan IV

Can you blame me? I know the Jordan I or the III were innovative. These were just amazing to me. I couldn't afford any when they first came out. I bought a pair that were barely used the same year. I really cannot say enough about them. I know they're just shoes. These are just great. The concrete detail on the base colored ones were my weakness for the second Nike on the list.

-NUMBER 2 - CONVERSE - Chuck Taylors

What can I say about Chucks? They are absolutely timeless. They have been owned, drawn on, warn out, painted, and played in for over 60 years. They continue to be a staple, world wide. Chuck Taylors are what every sneaker started as. They are the Patriarch, they are Chucks. I cannot even guess how many of these I have gone through. The varieties now with the One Star line are nuts. Your grandfather wore a pair of these.

- NUMBER 1 - ADIDAS - Superstar or Shells

Adi Dassler would be proud. It's the Superstar. It has made transformations since it's beginning in 1969. It has never jumped too far from the beginning though. The Superstar, I love it, hi-top or low.

Send them to me.

So that's it. I just wanted to throw that in the nonsense pile. Enjoy it!
